Auction Services upgraded to version 4.1
Commerce One has completed
upgrading SeaPort Auction Services to version 4.1.
This software upgrade will improve SeaPort's
electronic multiple award contract (MAC) task order bidding functionality.
Having completed internal testing, it is now necessary to verify that you are
able to use the bidding event features of the site.
To get started, follow these steps (if you have never logged
into SeaPort's Auction Services, only steps 2 and 5
1. Close all browsers and applications. If your computer is
running Windows NT or Windows 2000, go to My Computer\C\WINNT\Java\Packages. If
your computer is running Windows 98, go to c:\\windows\java\packages. Open each
of the zipped files (file extension will be ".zip") that you see in
this folder. Look at the path of each file which is located on the far right.
If the path of any file contains "commerceone",
delete the entire zip file which contains that file.
Note: If you cannot open the zipped files, because you do
not have the "winzip" utility, it can be
downloaded from http://www.winzip.com.
2. Click on the "Start" button on the taskbar.
Click on "Run" from the pop-up menu. Type "wjview"
in the text box and click "OK". This will tell you which version of
the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) your computer is using. To upgrade to Auction
Services 4.1, the JVM needs to be Version 5.00.3802 or higher.
Note: If your computer contains an earlier version of the
JVM, you can download the latest version from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/.
Use a keyword search and type "java" into the keyword search field
(make sure that "All Downloads" is selected). Download the latest
version of the JVM to replace the current version on your computer. Make sure
to close your browser and all windows after downloading the latest version of
3. Go to My Computer\C\WINNT\Downloaded Program Files. If
your computer is running Windows 98, go to c:\\windows\Downloaded Program
Files. Select the Commerce One Auction Services Support file. Right click on it
and choose "Remove".
4a. Open Netscape Navigator. In the tool bar along the top
of the screen, select "Edit". Select "Preferences" from the
drop down menu. Under "Category", select "Navigator". In
the third section of the window ("History"), click on the "Clear
History" button. Choose "OK" on the pop-up menu. In the fourth
section of the window ("Location Bar
History"), click on the "Clear Location Bar" button. Choose
"OK" on the pop-up dialogue box. Under "Category", select
"Advanced". Double-click on "Advanced" to display the drop
down tree. From the tree, select "Cache". Click on the "Clear
Memory Cache" button. Choose "OK" on the pop-up dialogue box.
Click on the "Clear Disk Cache" button. Choose "OK" on the
pop-up menu. Click the "OK" button at the bottom of the dialogue box.
4b. Open Internet Explorer. In the tool bar along the top of
the screen, select "Tools". Select "Internet Options" from
the drop down menu. Select the "General" tab. In the second section
of the window ("Temporary Internet files"), click on the "Delete
Files..." button. Check the box that reads "Delete all offline
content". Choose "OK" in the pop-up dialogue box. In the third
section of the window ("History"), click on the "Clear
History" button. Choose "OK" in the pop-up dialogue box. Click
the "OK" button at the bottom of the dialogue box.
5. Go the Auction Services page located at https://auction.seaport.navy.mil/Bid/.
